Maurizio Cattelan’s stuffed horse with its head embedded in the wall of the Modern Art Gallery in Frankfurt is causing something of a stir. This is typical of Cattelan, deemed by some to be the finest contemporary Italian artist.

When you say stuffed horse do you mean, stuffed as in teddy bear? Or taxidermy?

They made a big fuss here in Poland about the Pope John Paul II figure struck down by a meteor … They always make a big fuss when somebody ‘offends’ JPII. Even if I can’t see how that was offensive.

one of his sculptures is one of a horse with a dog and a cat on it’s head (if my memory serves me correctly!). I liked that one. I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called though but it has a caption that goes along the lines of..
The first they said, should be sweet like love. The second bitter like life life. And the third soft, like death.
