Maurizio Cattelan’s stuffed horse with its head embedded in the wall of the Modern Art Gallery in Frankfurt is causing something of a stir. This is typical of Cattelan, deemed by some to be the finest contemporary Italian artist.Maurizio Cattelan causing a stir in Frankfurt

If interested check out his praying Hitler, or his Pope John Paul struck down by a meteor.

When you say stuffed horse do you mean, stuffed as in teddy bear? Or taxidermy?

They made a big fuss here in Poland about the Pope John Paul II figure struck down by a meteor … They always make a big fuss when somebody ‘offends’ JPII. Even if I can’t see how that was offensive.

one of his sculptures is one of a horse with a dog and a cat on it’s head (if my memory serves me correctly!). I liked that one. I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called though but it has a caption that goes along the lines of..

The first they said, should be sweet like love. The second bitter like life life. And the third soft, like death.
