I’m writing this (in my trusty leather bound notebook) from the floor in a quiet corner I found backstage at the debut show for Whitley Kros. It amazes me that people think we models live a glamorous life. Not enough seats backstage, food for 20 people to feed 50, our heads of hair being back combed to painful, PAINFUL lengths, being interviewed for tv about things you’ve never even heard of….so what ya gonna do? LIE! and so many camera’s shoved in your face while hair and make-up is in progress that you can’t relax/pick your nose/sneeze or grimace with the pain!

All that said though as I stood in nothing but my nude thong surrounded by dressers, half a dozen gay men and wondering why I have no shoes to wear, I spotted my outfits and thought “hrmmm ok I wouldn’t buy them but this could work.”

I’ll be honest Whitley Kros is not my personal style, too much spandex, too many bright colours, think “Working Girl”(1980’s) but their clothes are fun and cute with some pieces I would love to grunge out.

Whitley Kros Finale

Who knows maybe this label will really take off, it sure was fun to be in their first show. I’m curious to see where they’ll take us next season. Lord knows Marissa Ribisi (sister of Giovanni Ribisi) and Sophia Banks put together a great show, the next one can only be better again. And of course with Beck being Marissa’s “other half” the music was GREAT!

Flight 001 are selling this beauty from Robert Le Heros for 120 bucks. Am I the only one to like this? I sense it’s a pretty personal preference, this one.

The summer approaches for South America, and everyone has started to think about bikinis, trikinis, bathing suites, and summer clothing.

Rosa Chá: Summer Collection

A good place to buy something great for the summer is in Rosa Chá, where you can find pretty and exclusive bikinis, or beautiful dresses.

This is the coolest looking clock I’ve seen lately! Simple and stylish. Designed by Reddish Design Studio from Israel. They say: There is nothing trivial about time keeping.
As the time components (hours, minutes, seconds) are separated, each hand gets the appearance of a different time zone.

just-a-moment.jpg

Just a moment, let me take some time and think what the time is!
P.S: Please honey can I have one, it’s only about 80 $,:)….

Spice Girls are back, if that wasn’t enough Matt Damon (according to People magazine) is the Sexiest Man Alive. The world is coming to an end… I can already feel the impending doom.

The Brazilian brand Maria Bonita was created in 1975. By 1990 they had started a cheaper line, known as Maria Bonita Extra.

Across the two lines of Maria Bonita the aim is to give clients feminine, fresh, creative and quality clothing. These features make this brand one of the most important in Brazilian fashion.

Maria Bonita

You can find shops in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and all major Brazilian cities, with the name now becoming known in the United States, Portugal, Spain, France and Japan, where shops have started to appear this year. Keep an eye out for it.

Serendipity 3, a restaurant from New York has recently added to their menu an unusual dessert.  Frozen Haute Chocolate is made from 28 different kinds of cocoa and contains 5 grams of eatable gold.

          Frozen Haute Chocolate

I love chocolate but I’m not sure if I would be willing to spend  $25 000 on a dessert, if I had spare $25 000 that is…

EDIT:  Serendipity 3 shut down over rodents

Here are a few photos some girl’s blog, which I got to from linking from another blog, which I got to from linking from another blog, which I got to… you get the idea…

Girl Doing Her Thing

Basically, she takes photos of herself in various outfits, and blogs them.

Girl Doing Her Thing

I think you ladies should do this more often.

Girl Doing Her Thing

I’m giving her “Spirit Of The Net Award”, as decided by Evan Lucas, for this week.

The New York Times recently published an article about the absence of black models from catwalks in NY, LA, London, Paris and Milan.

“Although black women in the United States spend more than $20 billion on apparel each year” the article quotes, “it was hard to discern an awareness of this fact on the part of designers showing in New York, where black faces were more absent from runways than they have been in years.”

The Absence Of Black

The article goes on to say: “Agents blame designers for the current state of affairs. Designers insist agents send them nothing but skinny blondes. Magazine editors bemoan the lack of black women with the ineffable attributes necessary to put across the looks of a given season.” Read the article here.

I hope I don’t get scalped for bringing the Spice Girls up on the hallowed Le Style Blog… but… well, how well they’ve matured - I remember never being remotely impressed with any of their looks when they first hit the stage, but now, well… just look at the photo. Only sporty looks, well, less than remarkably bloody good looking - there, I’ve said it!
