Among the bright colours on offer for spring, fuchsia stands out as the must-have for shoes - breaking up autumn’s ubiquitous grey. From Jimmy Choo to Christian Lacroix (seen here) this unique shade of pink will add a festive accent.

This Icelandic musician modeling here is called Mugison. He just released a new album and as I was checking it out online I found these amazing photos of him shot by a graphic designer called Jónas Valtýsson or Jonasval.

Thumbs up

My parents and my youngest brother were visiting me last week and of course I had to take them to see all the great things here in Barcelona. And when you are travelling you have to use public toilets…
Me and my mom were waiting in a line the other day and the sinks were in front of the toilets. While we were waiting we noticed that only one… ONE!!! man washed his hands after they came out.

Well….I think we found the solution to this problem

Birta Björnsdóttir is the creator of Júníform. She is a very artistic young
woman who is also a make-up artist.

She was the principal of the “No Name” make-up school in Iceland before she
decided to become a fashion designer. Her clothes are romantic and unique.
She has two lines, Júníform, where she makes more than one piece of each
design, and Júník, where the designs are one-offs.

Icelandic

She recently reopened her shop after giving it a major makeover. Can’t wait
to see it next time I go to Iceland. Maybe I’ll even buy a thing or two…

Iceland is known for its unique landscape, midnight sun, aurora borealis, volcanos, thermal pools and so on. This, presumably, creates an inspiring atmosphere for young designers.

You can see and feel the nature in most of the creations from Iceland, both musical and design-wise.

Soo… I thought it might be nice to show you some of the Icelandic’s greatest fashion designers.

This photo illustrates work from a design team called Spaksmannsspjarir (”wiseman’s clothes”). They offer a wide range of clothes for women, in all shapes and sizes. You can go to their shop and choose a look and they will costume-make items for you if necessary.

Icelandic fashion #1 Spaksmannsspjarir

I like.

There’s just something about this that charms me. The shoes are all handmade and unique and they even come with special wooden shoe trees to keep the shape of the shoe, made for each pair!!!

Designers #3 John Lobb

“The original John Lobb was a lame Cornish farmboy whose mastery of the Gentle Craft of last and awl brought him golden awards in the Great International Exhibitions of Victorian times.”

Oh wow… I just love these old looking things….*sigh*

When you have many pairs of shoes, it’s very likely that you won’t wear some
of them very often. Still though, you want to take good care of them and prevent
them from being “injured” in your closet.

It’s a good idea to keep them in their boxes but then it can be difficult to find them again when you need
them without opening about 50 boxes before you find the right pair.

Plus, it can be frustrating to keep the boxes if you buy them in another country and you have to buy a new suitcase for all the new stuff you
bought because the boxes take up so much space in the one you have.

So, what to do??

I recommend this

Take good care of the things you love

They also have boot supporters, boxes for hats and other cool stuff. Nice!

This man is a legend. He is an amazing artist, who I think everybody will know. But just in case, look here

Manolo Blahnik

One day I’ll buy a pair… one day I will *sigh*.

I have a date on Thursday. As usual I’m thinking in advance, what I should wear?

It’s not a typical date though, though I am getting naked: it’s my date for the conception of my baby, and it will happen without my husband even being there.

My date with conception

What is the appropriate outfit for this kind of occasion?

Since I’m going to be a chic pregnant woman very soon, I can’t be dressed too casual, nor should I overdress, so it’s a dilemma.

Underwear: well the doctor probably won’t see them, but just in case, simple, sexy and of course clean. Jewellery: my rings and earrings, and my watch.

Make-up; just the usual, powder and mascara.

But for the rest I’m not sure. Any ideas? It has to be just right!

This autumn our mother’s and/or grandmother’s closets are going to be really popular. That is if you’re lucky to have a mother/grandmother who kept all of her old neck scarves.

Hot This Autumn: Scarves

I recommend e-Bay for “scarf-hunting”.

A few months ago I was walking down the street in Iceland. A women passed by me wearing the wierdest pair of shoes I had ever seen. They were orange, goofy looking and well… not nice. Not nice at all.
I just felt sorry for the poor women, surely she was a nice lady, just lacking fashion sense…or what???
During the next days and weeks I saw more and more people wearing them, pink, blue, purple, black, white, red, you name it, they have all the colours. And it wasn’t just in Iceland. No, that thing had made it’s way to Barcelona too. After a while I started to realise that people actually liked them. They told me that they are sooo comfortable and not THAT ugly.
crocs-a fashion disaster

I think they ARE ugly, and I just don’t understand how people can actually leave the house with those on, or just put them on to begin with.
And now they even have crocs bling-bling to try to make them look nicer!!!
Well, a newsflash for you; it’s not working. It’s a mission impossible. So people, please stop wearing these monsters.

Oh if I was a rich girl…..I’d definitely buy a pair or two from this wonderful designer.

Giuseppe Zanotti

Simple, elegant and sexy, always a good mix.

Last time I counted my shoes they were over 120 pairs…. I’ve bought a few pairs since then so I don’t know how many they are now, I’m afraid to check. Still if I had money I’d probably have at least three times that.
I don’t know what it is, I never feel like I have enough shoes. My hubby rolls his eyes everytime we go out and I say “I don’t have any shoes…”Shoe-aholic
When I see a pair I like I get butterflies in my stomach, similar to the ones you get when you have a crush on someone. I get that feeling and I just HAVE to buy them. If I don’t, I’ll feel restless for the next days. I have that feeling in my stomach that just doesn’t go away untill I buy that pair…if not that pair, then just any pair…!!!
Have you ever had that feeling? Well then I hate to be the one to break the news but you have a problem. You are a shoe-aholic!
But what a wonderful problem to have…
